"THE MAN FROM PLANET X" 1951
SOLD
New poster just in: an original UK quad of one of the
rarest and most sought after of all 1950's sci-fi movies.
The American one-sheet, inserts or lobby cards very rarely
surface, and when they do they fetch premium prices. The UK quad is infinitely
rarer, and I can find no record of one ever being offered for sale. The image
retains the classic features of the known American art work, but has additional
graphics not featured elsewhere.
This ultra-rare copy was recovered with 20 other posters of
the same date, from a cupboard in an office just prior to demolition, beside the
old Empire cinema building in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. They had survived,
untouched, and unseen, for 55 years; and although complete, were in a fragile
state. This copy has been linen backed, de-acidified, and had minor repair work
done to some damage to the white margin, by Alain
Bourgouin of the Poster Science studios in London.
